Pacsafe NOT Safe in MRT

I’ve been a fan of Pacsafe bags since college. I loved the designs, safety features, and quality overall. I own two Pacsafe bags. I think Pacsafe and Travelon are the only anti-theft bags in the market.

Last October, I rode the MRT during rush hour. For Filipinos, you know what that means, sardines of people inside a train trying to get home faster. I know it was a mistake. I placed my Pacsafe backpack in the middle of my legs to save space. When we reach Shaw Boulevard Station, a woman was trying to get out. Little did I know the hook of her bag ripped the front of my Pacsafe and it got stuck. I have to manually remove the hook so the woman can get off the train. I was mad. I can’t blame the woman.

After the incident, I thought maybe Pacsafe could do something about it. Anyway, the warranty covers my bag. I have all the requirement. I searched Pacsafe on Facebook. I told them about the incident. They replied immediately with a list of items I need to provide.

“Hello Lorraine! In able for us to help you, may we get the following information from you?

NAME
MOBILE NO.
EMAIL
PRODUCT MODEL
PRODUCT CONCERN
STORE WHERE THE ITEM WAS BOUGHT
DATE OF PURCHASE
PHOTO OF BAG
STYLE TAG INSIDE PHOTO OF THE RECEIPT
May we also add that if you can’t provide a receipt, corresponding fees may apply. Thanks!

I replied with complete details and DIDN’T RECEIVE A RESPONSE!

It’s as if they disappeared. I was disappointed with the service. I went to SM the Block and asked them. They told me there’s nothing they can do about it not even repair even with a fee. I decided I’m not getting Pacsafe again. I wanted to share this to warn you. In case this happens Pacsafe will not repair your bag other than faulty in zipper or lock.

Pacsafe should have told me in the first place that they can’t do anything about my bag. They should have a repair service or a third party company who will offer to repair the bags.

Do you know a shop that offers bag repair? Please comment below. Thank you!
